Bienvenidos a Los Estados Unidos

Feliz Año Nuevo!

I am back in the U.S. Not happily, but I am back. I didn't want to leave Costa Rica. My host family was very sad and my little brother cried. He was just way too cute. I cant wait to get pictures up of my trip.

On my last day in Costa Rica I went on a river trip on the Pejabaye River in a Duckie. A Duckie is a two person inflatable kayak. It was a fun time. I got splashed quite a bit and I had a great female guide in my kayak with me. as we were driving to the river, I mentioned to the guides that myself and the other girl that was with me really liked the sugar cane we had while horse back riding. So they stopped and broke some off for us to have after our trip. Ask and you shall receive really works.

I am now in Arizona doing and Emergency Medicine rotation with the Phoenix Fire Department. It's a great gig. I live at the firehouse with the firemen/paramedics (woohoo!) and do 24 hour shifts, eat "chow" and go on the calls. I get to ride on a fire truck!!! I have done one shift so far. It was pretty slow, which is good, but I am hoping to get some interesting calls. The two most exciting things we had were a 300lb woman who had fallen and couldn't get up and then a car fire.

While I am in AZ I hope to get a lot done. I want to gain some flight time, but the weather has been pretty cruddy. I also really want to catch up with friends I have seen in quite some time. I need to plan my graduation party, work on my computer elective for school (which I should be doing this second but blogging is so much more fun) and I just started reading "The Da Vinci Code". It would be nice to get through that in the next four weeks.

Well folks. That's all for now. What I am hoping for in the next week is posting the Costa Rica pics for you all.

Happy New Year!

Dr.T
