Things in AZ have been great over the last 3 weeks. The weather is wonderful (70's and sunny). Seeing old friends and their kids has been GREAT! Spending time with the firefighters has been a good experience too.
I returned from a trip to San Antonio last weekend to attend the American Academy of Family Physicians Winter Assembly. I've never been to San Antonio before. It is a neat little city. Kind of wish I would have applied to residency there. The meeting was good. I serve on the Commission for Resident and Student Issues and I was also there to train the Regional Family Medicine Interest Group Coordinators. I am the National Family Medicine Interest Group Coordinator. I have an awesome group of Regional Coordinators this year. They are eager to get things done and have all sorts of great ideas. I can't wait to see what great things will come of this year.
The other thing I have been doing is trying to figure out where to go for residency. I've narrowed it down to three programs and I have one more interview left in San Jose, CA. I will be doing second looks at the programs I am interested in over the next few weeks. This is such a tough decision. Part of me would love to return to AZ, but the other, more exploratory and adventurous side of me wants to go somewhere new. Experience a new place. Decisions, decisions...
Well, I am not looking forward to returning to NY next weekend. Its been cold. High of 19 and low of 7 this weekend. I'll be shell shocked when I leave my 75 degree weather. But I am looking forward to see my East coast friends again (Dianna and Jason, Cop Tom, Chris S., Changa and others). And, we are WAY over due for an SGC meeting.
Anyway, I am going to sign out for now. Thanks to you guys that have been replying to my posts.
